This lovely couple lives in Scotland and after deciding to elope in New York City, found me through a High Line wedding photoshoot I did with The Lovely Bride and Lo Boheme! They flew me out from California and we spent an afternoon exploring the city after they eloped with Genevieve of Cheerleader for Love at Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was utterly romantic and made me wish I had done something similar with my husband! The groom wore a perfect summer Hugo Boss blue suit and the bride was just stunning in her Laure de Sagazon lace gown. I am such a sucker for a gorgeous French wedding dress. Designs by Ahn created an amazing ranunculus bouquet and boutonnière with a green, cream and white palette that remained flawless in the hot summer sun – now that’s a talented florist! For you flower lovers, she used veronica, ranunculus, andromeda, olive green, green thistle in these arrangements! We started at the Nomad Hotel in Midtown, took a cab ride to Brooklyn then made our way back to the High Line and the Standard Hotel for a celebratory drink. It was a lot of fun recreating a shot from inside the Standard Hotel of the bride and groom’s silhouettes, and walking along the High Line during a different time of year! Special shout out to People’s Pops for keeping us hydrated with your delicious High Line popsicles! If anyone out there is considering a New York City elopement, I say do it without hesitation! I also want to extend a special thank you to my husband for coming along with me on this trip. We visited his work headquarters at Colgate-Palmolive (my first time there!), went to the MOMA and ate a ton of delicious food in the short time we were there! He took the photo of the couple in the back of the cab and it’s one of my favorites from the day!
